Everything You Need To Know

  • How will I know my car is on the way?
    You will receive a text with the vehicle information where you can track your car’s progress to you. You will also receive a call to let you know that the taxi will shortly be outside.
  • Do you provide child booster seats?
    Our drivers do not provide booster seats, but you are welcome to use your own.
  • What are your rates after midnight?
    After midnight we charge the normal fare plus half again between 00:00am and 05:00am. We also charge £1.00 more on bank holidays and have different rates for the Christmas period as well.
  • What are your waiting time charges?
    The first 3 minutes at the pickup point are free but after that and for any other subsequent stops we charge 35p a minute - £21 per hour.
  • Can I arrange a taxi on a regular basis?
    Yes, we can make a regular booking for you, just call our helpful control desk who will advise you.
  • Are your drivers DBS checked?
    Yes, this is part of the licensing process conducted by Thanet District Council.
  • Do you take animals?
    Yes, we do carry pets in our vehicles although availability is limited so please check with us first. We charge an extra £2 for dogs.
  • How do I complain?
    In the unlikely event you wish to complain to us please email with all the details at bookings@centralcarsthanet.co.uk and allow us time to respond.
  • What do I do I have left my phone in the taxi?
    Do not worry, leaving your property in a taxi is a common occurrence. Please contact us as soon as possible and we will ask the driver to check his vehicle. If your property is found then you can ask to collect it from our head office in Broadstairs, or the driver can drop it back to you but there will be a charge of the fare for this.
  • How much notice do you need to collect me from the airport?
    We recommend about 24 hours’ notice for airport collections.
